Scholarships for the Underprivileged

The NRM government has invested heavily in education through construction and equipping seed secondary schools and universal primary education. This has relieved pressures from philanthropists like Mary Begumisa. This has compelled Hon Mary Begumisa to facilitate the students that have been benefiting from her education scholarship programs with 2 goats per each student. Thus she was able to give out 200 goats to 100 students. She donated 40 bicycles to male students to enable them ride to a nearby seed secondary school.

Mary Begumisa foundation believes that education is the foundation for success and the primary goal of the organization.

We give scholarship to less privilege, talented and well performing children in local schools to promote education at all levels.

Mary Begumisa foundation believes that an educated child will be able to find employment to secure a future for them and their family, a chance to earn a sustainable income, helping them to break the cycle of poverty.

So through becoming better educated, a child can be informed much earlier about their health and well-being thus, reducing the chances of child marriage, early pregnancies, and HIV/AIDS contraction.(education is the key to fight poverty and disease).

The foundation works closely with each child to determine their individual needs and help them receive the support they need as a way of realizing their dreams.

Mary Begumisa foundation through its mission it looks at all the things that prevent children from surviving and thriving in their community, and then works with the community to build a better life for all children.

After one student completes his/her education, we will give another student the opportunity to come into the program.

In Mary Begumisa foundation, scholarships are renewed annually as well as updating their information and parents /guardians and children must agree to the terms and conditions before the scholarship is grated and this has helped us moving in all directions together.
